Folks were not happy that Taylor Swift announced she’d be performing at the Melbourne Cup Carnival, ahead of the horserace at Flemington Racecourse, with animal rights activists calling on her to cancel the gig because of the death of horses at previous races. Well, it seems Taylor may have listened.

Victoria Racing club announced over the weekend that Taylor has canceled her appearance, sharing, “a recent change to Taylor Swift’s Asian promotional tour means she will no longer be able to perform at this year’s Melbourne Cup.” 

While the animal rights issues weren’t cited as the reason for her cancelation, the Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses was certainly happy about Taylor’s decision

“THANK YOU TAYLOR! We are absolutely delighted with the news,” they wrote on Facebook. “The pressure on Taylor Swift to cancel her performance was significant. Her fans did not want to see her supporting animal abuse.” 

Hootie & The Blowfish just gave fans another taste of their upcoming album “Imperfect Circle.” The band just released the new song “Miss California.” 

“Imperfect Circle” is set to drop November 1st, featuring 13 tracks, with the band working with such songwriters as EdSheeran, Chris Stapleton and Eric Paslay.

There’s good news for Justin Bieber fans. Based on pictures that turned up on Instagram this weekend, it looks like Justin is back in the studio making music again.

First, Justin’s wife Hailey Bieber posted a picture on her Instagram Story of Justin eating soup in the studio, and then Disney star Kyle Massey, posted over thirty Instagram videos of his day with Justin.

Some of the videos show producer Maejor, while others include Justin's longtime producer and collaborator, Josh Gudwin, at the mixing board. At one point Massey tells the camera, “Justin Bieber studio session, yes sir! My brother is back in the album mode."

Harry Styles tops UK reality star rich list: Harry Styles is making a lot of dough. The singer tops the UK reality star rich list, with earnings of more than $70 million. Harry’s fellow OneDirection and “X Factor” bandmates also made the list, with Liam Payne in second, with over $66 mil, Niall Horan at four with over $59 mil, Louis Tomlinson at five with over $53 miland ZaynMalik at six with $43 mil.
