Pharrell Demands Trump Stop Using “Happy”
Pharrell Williams is demanding President Donald Trump stop using his music at his rallies. The singer's lawyer sent the president a cease and desist letter after he used Pharrell’s song “Happy” during his rally in Indiana Saturday just hours after a gunman opened fire at a Pittsburgh synagogue.
"On the day of the mass murder of 11 human beings at the hands of a deranged 'nationalist,' you played his song 'Happy' to a crowd at a political event in Indiana," the singer’s attorney Howard King writes in the letter. "There was nothing 'happy' about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose."
The letter went on to note that Pharrell has never and will never give Trump permission to use his music, and adds that doing amounts to copyright and trademark infringement.
Justin Timberlake Shares How Wife Jessica Biel Changed His Life
Justin shares that he wrote the song “Mirrors” about Jessica even before they were engaged, and dedicated the video to his grandparents, noting, “I learned about long-lasting love from them. I know that’s what I have with my wife.”
Justin recounts first meeting Jessica at a surprise party, and while they talked and danced that night, they didn’t exchange numbers although he did realize he was “kind of interested in that girl.” They eventually met up again when she came to one of his shows, and he got her number, and they started talking on the phone for like two weeks before they went on a date, because he was on tour.
“We’ve had a lot of unforgettable times. She’s become a huge influence on my life, and I have such admiration for her, especially seeing her as a mother now. But I had admiration for her before," he says. "She’s a very good writer. She’s a poet. She’s a tremendous actor. She’s funny. Very funny. And she’s one of the most patient people I’ve ever met.
He adds, "She changed me. She changed my life. All of that is in “Mirrors.” Not the details. But the way it felt to have my life be touched by her.”
