One Direction Marks Eighth Anniversary

When couples break up they usually stop celebrating their anniversary, but the same can’t be said for groups, or at least one group, One Direction. The group, who are currently on indefinite hiatus, reactivated their social media account yesterday to celebrate the eighth anniversary of their creation.

“A whole lotta history... this Monday is an important anniversary for the guys, it’s been #8YearsofOneDirection,” they tweeted. "To celebrate, it's time to relive all the hits this weekend by streaming the official playlist and tweeting which tracks you are listening to."

Individual band members also took to social media to mark the occasion. “Wow! 8 years of amazing memories with the lads. Thank you so much for standing by us for all this time,” Niall Horan tweeted, while Liam Payne added, “what an incredible 8 years it’s been with my brothers! Thank you to all the fans that are still supporting and following our journeys.” Finally Louis Tomlinson noted, “Where has the time gone!? Thank you so much to every single person who’s ever supported us. Big love!”
