John Legend Close To An EGOT

John Legend is one step closer to an EGOT. The singer received two nominations for his work on NBC’s “Jesus Christ Superstar,” and should he win he will have fulfilled the ultimate of winning a GRAMMY, Oscar, Tony and Emmy.

John was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie and Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for playing the musical’s title role.

“Being a part of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ was one of my favorite experiences in my career," Legend said of his Emmy nods. "Such a wonderful show, such a wonderful team. I couldn't be more proud of what we all did together and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to do this.”

Legend has already won 10 GRAMMYs, as well as an Oscar for his "Selma" tune “Glory,” and a Tony for producing 2017’s Best Revival of a Play winner “Jitney”

ONE MORE THING! Legend's wife Chrissy Teigan had a little fun with John's Emmy nods. "13 nominations for Jesus Christ Superstar this morning! John got two emmy nominations!," she tweeted, adding, "If he wins, he will complete his EGOT and my spike tv award will probably be moved. But it’s ok I AM SO PROUD!"

Pharrell Williams & Robin Thicke Lose “Blurred Lines” Appeal

It looks like Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke won’t be able to get out of paying Marvin Gaye’s family over the “Blurred Lines” lawsuit. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has turned down the pair’s appeal of the judgment once and for all, which means they are going to have to pay up.

Back in 2015, a jury found that “Blurred Lines” was a rip-off of Gaye’s “Got To Give It Up,” and awarded the Gaye family millions, as well as 50% of future royalties.

As it stands right now, the only other chance Williams and Thicke have to get out of the settlement is to petition the Supreme Court for a review, but the chance of that happening is slim, since the high court only takes a few cases.

“To say that this is satisfying would be the biggest understatement of my life," Richard Busch, the attorney who represented the Gaye family, says. " This has been a long and winding road for the Gaye family and our entire team, in which we had to fight every step of the way. But we were up to the challenge every time, and justice has prevailed.”

Kesha Breaks Down In Tears At Cincinnati Show

Kesha broke down in tears during her show at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio earlier this week.

The breakdown occurred during her performance of “Praying,” which she dedicated to, “anybody out there that needs it." About three minutes into the song, a group of Kesha’s Animals raised a sign that read “Thank You,” and she was so touched she got choked up, and had a hard time regaining her composure.

She did tell her fans though, "I should thank you.”
