Mariah Carey Opens Up About New Residency

, Mariah Carey is kicking off a new Las Vegas residency, “The Butterfly Returns,” in July, and she wants fans to know it will very different from her previous residency.

“The first was all number ones,” Carey tells “People” of her residency that ended last year. “This one is more of an intimate moment with me. It feels closer to who I am, as opposed to trying to fit into a box. My fans are used to me being more off-the-cuff.”

She adds, “It’s not like one of those extravaganza [shows.] This is more like ‘Here we are, we’re together. Oh, you want me to do this song tonight?’ Maybe I’ll take a request from the audience. My band are such great players and singers.”

As for what she plans to wear on stage, Mariah says it will likely be something pretty out there.  “I kind of can’t help myself,” she says, “I don’t know when I’m understated. Maybe in my sleep, and even then it’s not understated! I know who I am and I go with what works for me.”

New Christina Aguilera Coming Today?

Christina Aguilera continues to use social media to tease her fans, and it looks like we may finally be getting some answers today.

Christina's latest Twitter tease was a 13-second black and white video, which has her licking a glass of milk. She then followed that up with a big annoucement on Instagram stories, that read "Tomorrow 8 am NY (Worldwide)," along with an audio message in which she's heard saying "I'm ready, it's time, I'm finally feeling liberated," with many suggesting "Liberated" is the title of her new single.

And that's not all, she also tweeted out a new hashtag #XXXXXX, although there's no word yet on what that means.
