Christina Aguilera Drops New Single, Announces New Album, Trashes “The Voice”

The wait for new music is over for Christina Aguilera fans. The singer just dropped the Kanye West-produced track “Accelerate,” which is the first single from her upcoming album “Liberated,” set to drop June 15th.

The new track features Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz, and they aren’t the only guests featured on the album. Christina also duets with Demi Lovato on the track “Fall in Line.” Check out the video for “Accelerate” to the right, and the track list for “Liberated” below.

Meanwhile, Christina is also featured on the cover of this week’s Billboard, and inside she basically trashes her time on NBC’s “The Voice.” In the interview she calls the show an "energy sucker," and compared it to a "churning hamster wheel,” and says she felt "suffocated and restricted" on the show. "I was longing for freedom," she says, adding that when she left the set, "I would just take everything off—the makeup, all of it—and would blast hip-hop, or Nirvana, 'Creep,' Slayer. Anything like that to get me out of that zone, that TV mode.""I didn't get into this business to be a television show host and to be given all these [rules]. Especially as a female: You can't wear this, can't say that. I would find myself on that show desperately trying to express myself through clothing or makeup or hair. It was my only kind of outlet,” she explains, noting, "It became something that I didn't feel was what I had signed up for in Season 1. You realize it's not about music. It's about making good TV moments and massaging a story."
