The Weeknd Drops Surprise EP
The Weeknd made good on his tease. Although he initially hinted at an album release today, he actually dropped the surprise EP, “My Dear Melancholy,” last night, streaming it on Apple Music.
The album features six tracks, with a guest appearance by French DJ Gesaffelstein on songs “Hurt You” and “I Was Never There.”
Shawn Mendes Sets Week-Long “Late Late Show” Residency
Shawn Mendes appeared on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” earlier this week and he liked it so much he’s coming back this summer. But Shawn won’t be returning for just one gig. In case you missed it, the singer revealed that he’ll be back for a week-long residency, staring June 4th. (Hmm, could a new album be coming out by then?)
In addition to performing every night, Shawn hinted that he was going to be doing a Carpool Karaoke, suggesting to James he could help “drive you to work," with James adding, “are you saying you’d help me get to work in the carpool lane?”
James Bay Shares Acoustic Performance Of New Single
James Bay is set to drop the new single “Us” today, but as a lead up to the release he shared an acoustic performance of the track with “Entertainment Weekly.”
“I’ve been lucky enough to meet people all over the world and witness the phenomenal strength of crowds,” he tells the mag. “I wrote this song to explore unity and inclusion. Looking through the lens of my own personal relationships, this song turned out to be a particularly important moment on the album for me.”
“Us” will be featured on James’ upcoming album “Electric Light,” which drops May 18th.

The singer shared a video, set to George Michael’s “Careless Whisper,” of him snuggling up to a totally chill koala, with Bruno offering up some koala-inspired puns. G-Eazy uses magazine cover to get through airport security: While most of us need a passport or driver’s license, G-Eazy apparently can get away with magazine cover to get him through airport security. In case you missed it, the rapper’s girlfriend Halsey tweeted that after losing his ID, G-Eazy tried, “to use the cover of @XXL as part of his additional identification to get through airport security,” adding that she was “so annoyed.” And as outrageous as it sounds, G-Eazy later revealed, “it worked.”Kelly Clarkson added to the ACMs:Kelly Clarkson is set to peform at next month's ACM Awards.
