On TV One’s “Uncensored,” she said, “I go to the Jay-Z concert and I am invited to the after-party. I was talking to another actress that was there, who was also talking to Jay-Z and she touched Jay-Z’s chest. Beyoncé came walking up and her demeanor was like, ‘Get your hand off my man’s chest!’”
Tiff didn’t reveal the name of the actress, but said that it’ll “come out in these streets.”
Judge Rules In Favor Of Taylor Swift In “Shake It Off” Lawsuit
A judge has ruled that Taylor Swift’s hit “Shake It Off” is not a rip-off. songwriters Sean Hall and Nathan Butler sued Tay for copyright infringement, claiming her song borrowed heavily from their 2001 tune, “Playas Gon’ Play.”
Well, now a federal judge has dismissed the case, noting that using the phrases “Playas gonna play” and “haters gonna hate,” isn’t original enough to fall under copyright protection.
“By 2001, American popular culture was heavily steeped in the concepts of players, haters, and player haters,” judge Michael W. Fitzgerald wrote in his decision. “The concept of actors acting in accordance with their essential nature is not at all creative; it is banal.” He concluded, “In sum, the lyrics at issue – the only thing that Plaintiffs allege Defendants copied – are too brief, unoriginal, and uncreative to warrant protection under the Copyright Act.”
