GRAMMY Nominations Breakdown

The GRAMMY nominations have been announced so you know what that means: it's time to analyze the numbers! This year, it's the hip hop stars that rule. Jay-Z, who's already won 21 GRAMMYs, leads the pack with eight nominations, followed by Kendrick Lamar with seven, and Bruno Mars with six.

The big categories of the night, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year feature those three artists going up against he likes of Lorde, Logic, Childish Gambino, and the team behind "Despacito," Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber.

Meanwhile the rock categories are paying respect to two late artists: Leonard Cohen and Chris Cornell, both of who are up for the Best Rock Performance.

The 60th annual GRAMMY Awards are set to air live from New York's Madison Square Garden on January 28th. Check out some of the nominations below and the full list HERE.

Ed Sheeran Fans Upset About Ed Sheeran GRAMMY Snub

Fans took to Twitter expressing outrage over the lack of big GRAMMY nominations for Ed Sheeran. While he didn’t make it into the Album of the Year category, Sheeran did nab a nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Shape of You” and “Divide.”

While it seems that two nominations in the Pop category are significant, Sheeran fans expressed a highly different opinion...still, some fans were able to take it in stride, with one noting, “Ok I know Gaga got snubbed but at least Ed Sheeran didn’t get any of the big 4 either.”
