Lady Gaga Pleads For Kindness On World Mental Health Day

Yesterday was World Mental Health Day and Lady Gaga took it as an opportunity to share a message of kindness with fans.

“Kindness Matters: Youth with high mental health inventory scores are significantly more likely to describe their environments as kind. 79% of 'mentally healthy' high schoolers say their schools are kind places,” she wrote. “However, 61% of youth describe themselves as stressed and 1 in 4 say they are nervous all or most of the time. 90% of youth think mental health is an important priority but less than half talk about it with anyone.” She added, “So simply, #BeKind.”

Gaga says she got the statics from the “Kind Communities Survey” which was conducted by her Born This Way Foundation. In addition to another post about mental illness in America, Gaga invited her fans to join her in a live, but silent prayer session.

Kelly Clarkson Opens Up About Her Label Troubles

Kelly Clarkson is set to release her new album “Meaning of Life on October 27th on her new label Atlantic Records, and in a new interview in “Variety” she’s opening up about her troubled relationship with her former label RCA Records and its chief Clive Davis.

Kelly landed her deal with RCA becuase of "American Idol," calling it a "an arranged marriage." Her time with RCA included many battles, including one over whether to put “Miss Independent” on her debut record, let alone release it as a single. “The only reason I got it as the first single was because it tested well,” she says. “Everybody was like, ‘That can’t be. There are too many guitars. That’s not really your sound. You’re the next Whitney Houston.’ I love Whitney Houston, but I don’t want to make those records.”

And things got worse when Clive took over in 2004, and it’s well known that he tried to bury her 2007 album “My December.” Kelly says he told her the song “Because of You” was “a sh*tty song because it didn’t rhyme,” adding, “a group of men thought it was OK to sit around a young woman and bully her. I was told I should shut up and sing.”

The whole experience with Clive was disappointing because she admits she was “excited” when she heard he was taking over the label. “It’s like meeting someone you’ve idolized since you were a kid and being let down,” she shares. “The only victory I see from the last 15 years is honestly just the fact that, we were successful.”
