Lady Gaga Teams With Starbucks For Kindness Campaign
Lady Gaga wants to spread kindness in the world, and she’s using Starbucks to do so. The singer has teamed with the coffee giant to curate a Cups of Kindness collection, with 25 cents from all purchases going to Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation.
Gaga’s collection includes four non-dairy drinks, including the once “secret” Starbucks Pink Drink and Ombre Pink Drink, as well as two beverages specifically created by Gaga, a Matcha Lemonade and the Violet Drink. The Matcha beverage is described as a “vibrant green drink is made with finely ground Teavana matcha green tea combined with crisp lemonade then shaken with ice,” while the Violet beverage is simply a Very Berry Hibiscus Starbucks Refresher with coconut milk and ice.
Fans who want to taste one of Gaga’s drinks will have to head to the store now, since they are only available from today until Monday. According to a press release, “Funds raised will go toward programs that support youth wellness and empowerment by fostering kindness, improving mental health resources, and creating more positive environments.” The Seattle coffee giant is expected to donate a minimum of $250,000 to the organization.
Katy Perry Talks More About Her Mental Health, As Well As Taylor Feud
Katy Perry’s sat down with “Today’s” Natalie Morales during her 96-hour YouTube livestream, and she elaborated on her comments from over the weekend about having suicidal thoughts.
Katy admits that she sort of created a character of “Katy Perry” because, “for a long time, I didn't feel like old Katheryn Hudson from Santa Barbara was anything special," noting that her character has “done really well."
As for those low points, Katy says, "It's not just been a one time that I've felt really low,” explaining, “I have my own addictions that I struggle with, whether that's love or substance or things like that, and it's up and down. Or, even just attention, you know? I get so much attention and that can become addiction."
Katy also talked, yet again, about her feud with Taylor Swift, denying that her latest single “Swish Swish,” was about Tay. “No, it's not about anyone in particular and I've said that on the record,” Katy shared. Natalie continued to try and press her, even mentioning Taylor by name, to which Katy replied, "That might be your story, but my story, which I know is true for me, is that I've had not just one person bully me or one person hold me down or met one troll. All I need to say to her is I love her, and God bless her on her journey. And that's it." Check out Katy’s interview to the right. Katy also responded to speculation that Taylor released her catalog on Spotify on Friday on purpose to compete with Katy's "Witness" release. "I don’t know, I can only do me," she said.In another interview with “Witness World Wide,” Katy revealed who she wrote the song “The One That Got Away” about, and believe it or not, it’s Josh Groban. “I do want to say, people are like, who is ‘The One That Got Away’ about? That’s Groban,” she said, adding, “He’s one of my good friends.”
Katy ended her YouTube livestream with an intimate concert at Los Angeles' Ramon C. Cortines High School for Performing Arts, in front of about 1,000 fans and contest winners. She performed her first "Witness" single "Chained to the Rhythm," and other new tunes like "Hey, Hey, Hey," "Save A Draft," "Bon Appetit," "Power," and "Swish Swish" as well as classics like "Firework," "Dark Horse," and "Roar."
