Katy Perry Officially Joining “American Idol”
It’s official – Katy Perry is joining “American Idol.” ABC made the announcement during their upfront presentation at Lincoln Center in New York yesterday.
“I am honored and thrilled to be the first judge bringing back the ‘American Idol’ tradition of making dreams come true for incredible talents with authentic personalities and real stories,” Katy said in a statement. “I’m always listening to new music, and love discovering diamonds in the rough – from mentoring young artists on my label, or highlighting new artists on my tours, I want to bring it back to the music.”
So far there’s no word on who else will be joining Katy, although several names have been mentioned including Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry.

Taylor Swift has been out of the public eye for quite some time working on her next record, but apparently she isn’t spending all of her time in the recording studio.
According to “The Sun,” Taylor has got herself a new boyfriend. The paper claims she is dating British actor Joe Alwyn, who appeared in the films “Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk” and “The Sense of an Ending.”
The alleged couple has reportedly been dating for a few months, and Taylor’s been able to keep it secret (at least up until now) by going out in disguise in London.
“Taylor and Joe are the real deal, this is a very serious relationship,” a source says. “But after what happened with Tom Hiddleston, they were determined to keep it quiet.”
Marriage For J-Rod?
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have only been dating since March, but sources say things are getting serious fast. In fact, the “M” word is being thrown around.
Even though it originally looked like Jennifer was just looking to play with the Yankee, now it seems like she might be in it for the long haul. An insider says, “J-Lo would marry A-Rod if he asked. She is head over heels for him. They get each other in so many ways.”
It doesn’t hurt that they both have two children – Lopez has twins Max and Emme with Marc Anthony, while Rodriguez has two daughters, Ella and Natasha, with his ex-wife, Natasha Alexander – and their families like them together. We’ll keep you posted…
