Ed Sheeran Tops The Hot 100 For An 11th Week
Ed Sheeran continues his hold on top the “Billboard” Hot 100. The singer’s latest, “Shape of You,” is number one for an 11th week, one of just 22 songs in Hot 100 history to hold the top spot for at least 11 weeks. The tune also holds on to the number one spot on the Radio Songs chart for a ninth week, while it drops to number two on the Streaming Songs chart after four weeks on top.
Coming in at number two on the Hot 100 is Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble,” which also takes over the top spot on the Streaming Songs, On-Demand Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales chart. Meanwhile, Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” is at number three on the Hot 100 this week, followed by KYLE’s “iSpy,” featuring Lil Yachty, at four and The Chainsmokers’ “Something Just Like This,” featuring Coldplay at five.
Mariah Carey Planning New Album For This Year
Mariah Carey fans can look forward to a new record this year. The singer, who just split from her boyfriend Brian Tanaka, and her label Butterfly MC Records is teaming with Epic and part of the deal includes a new album set for “later this year.”
"I am putting my heart and soul into making more new music," Mariah shares. "I am so thrilled for this next chapter and to continue working with, and for, everyone that I love."
This isn’t exactly a new label deal for Mariah. L.A. Reid signed her to Epic back in 2015, so this is just an extension of that contract.
Sam Smith Back In The Studio With Timbaland
Looks like Sam Smith is back in the studio. While the GRAMMY winner has been off social media for a while, it seems he is keeping himself busy making new music and he’s doing it with at least one big name producer.
In case you missed it, mega producer Timbaland shared a photo with Sam, with the caption “It was a pleasure working this man.” He then added the hashtags, #puretalent #goodvibes #makingmemories and #timeless #music. An earlier photo features Sam and his writing partner Jimmy Napes, with the caption, “We’re just getting started.”
