Artists Share Their Musical Heroines              

Yesterday was International Women’s Day, and in honor of the occasion several musicians shared with Spotify their thoughts on the female musicians that have inspired them the most.

For One Direction’s Niall Horan it is Stevie Nicks, noting, “Stevie wrote so many fantastic songs and paved the way for women and other songwriters in the modern era.” 

Other artists named as heroines include Gwen Stefani, Amy Winehouse, Dolly Parton and Carole King, while Zara Larsson and Little Mix’s Jesy chose Beyoncé, and Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards chose Katy Perry

Ed Sheeran Announces North American Tour On "Today"              

Ed Sheeran stopped by “Today” yesterday to perform the first Rockerfeller Plaza concert of 2017 and shared some news that’s bound to excite his fans. Ed is hitting the road for a four-month North American tour that will encompass 48 arena dates, although he hinted he may return for some stadium shows next year.

The newly-announced tour will kick off June 29th in Kansas City, Missouri and wraps October 6th at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Presales for all shows begin Monday at 10 am local time, with the general on sale starting Mach 17th at 10 am.

Pink & Sia To Appear On Debut Single From Stargate              

Pink and Sia lend their vocals to the debut song from Norwegian duo Stargate (Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen), who are best known for being producers and co-writers on such songs Beyoncé‘s “Irreplaceable,” Katy Perry‘s “Firework” and more.

The single, “Waterfall,” is set to drop tomorrow, and their label, RCA Records, promises their music “will surprise, excite and inspire both existing and new fans through their own new forthcoming music, which will feature new, up and coming artists, as well as some of today’s biggest superstars.”
