Ed Sheeran Recorded Multiple Versions Of Each Song On His New Album

Ed Sheeran is set to release his new album “÷” (“Divide”) tomorrow, and it’s pretty apparent that a lot went into making the record. Ed tells the BBC that he was so specific on what he wanted the record to sound like, he recorded multiple versions of each track before finally picking the ones that would make it on the album.

"I had in my mind what sound should be on what song, and which subject matter would be on which song - so I'd write 10 songs for that (idea),” he explains. "So there's six or seven songs about Suffolk (where he grew up), but ‘Castle on the Hill’ was the best one. And then there was a bunch of wedding songs, I guess, and ‘Perfect’ was the best one."

And even though he put a lot of effort into making the album, he never once felt pressure to deliver a number one . "I felt that with the first album," he says. "I remember thinking I would never write a song as good as ‘A Team.’ And then ‘Thinking Out Loud’ came, and I was like, 'Oh, OK, well maybe it's not impossible.”

He adds, “So going into this album, there was no worry at all because I knew I'd done it before. It's not like ‘Thinking Out Loud’ will be the peak of my career. It's definitely happened on this album. There's definitely one that's better."

Ariana Grande Opens Up About Love In The Latest Issue Of “Cosmopolitan”

Ariana Grande opens up about her relationship with boyfriend Mac Miller in the latest edition of “Cosmopolitan” magazine. Ariana and Mac have known each other since she was 19, but she admits back then she wasn’t ready for a relationship with him.

“We have loved and adored and respected each other since the beginning, since before we even met, just because we were fans of each other’s talent,” she tells the mag. “We weren’t ready at all, though, to be together. It’s just timing.”

And while Ariana may be happy, she wants everyone to know that being in love isn’t the most important thing to her. “I’ve never looked at love as something that I need to complete me. I would like to be complete on my own first and fall in love with somebody who is also complete,” she says. “You can still celebrate and be totally obsessed with each other, but I want to feel a hundred percent myself so that I can love that person better.”

Avril Lavigne Signs New Record Deal And Will Release An Album This Year

Avril Lavigne fans have something to look forward to this year. The singer has just signed a deal with a new record label, BMG, with plans to put out a new album by the end of the year.

"I challenged myself as a songwriter and I wanted to write about topics I hadn't hit on before," Avril tells "Billboard” about her next record, her first since her 2013 self-titled release. "There's the love topic, but a lot of these songs are about life.” She adds, “I've experienced a lot over the past few years, and some of the songs just came to me. Concepts and lyrics were flowing and I would have to grab my phone to sing into voice memo and write out my lyrics.”

As for when exactly fans will hear it, Avril notes, “When it's ready lol. Which will be soon."

Andy Grammer To Be A Dad

Andy Grammer is going to be a dad. The singer tells “People” that he and wife Aijia are expecting a daughter in July.

“I feel like if you told me I would be having a son, I would be like, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna be a parent — I get that,'” Andy says. “But when the doctor was like, ‘You’re gonna have a girl,’ I was like, ‘What? Who am I?’ It’s the craziest piece of information that changes who you are. It’s sweet.”

Aijia adds, “It’s been really exciting because on both sides of our family it’s the first girl, so it’s fun because it’s happy news to everyone.”
