CONES FOR THE CURE IS BACK! SEPT. 9-19

CINCINNATI, OH (September 14, 2021) – Graeter’s Ice Cream, a 151-year-old, family owned craft ice cream company, has partnered once again with The Cure Starts Now in support of finding the Homerun Cure™ for cancer. Graeter’s will host its annual Cones for the Cure campaign in efforts to raise money for The Cure Starts Now and pediatric cancer research. Graeter’s will once again offer one of its most iconic seasonal flavors, Elena’s Blueberry Pie – a special flavor that was created by a Cincinnati family in support of The Cure Starts Now – throughout September. At the center of Graeter’s Cones for the Cure campaign is The Cure Starts Now and its mission to find the Homerun Cure™ for cancer by focusing on pediatric brain cancer. The campaign gives consumers a unique way to support this increasingly important cause and bring hope during a difficult time. This year more than ever, the campaign is needed as COVID-19 caused unavoidable delays in planned research studies. The charity reports that studies must now begin from day 1, with many families relying on its outcome. During the Cones for the Cure campaign, Graeter’s Sweet Rewards loyalty members will be eligible for a free single dip of Elena’s Blueberry Pie Ice Cream. When redeeming the free cone, rewards members will be able to make a donation directly to The Cure Starts Now. Joining the Graeter’s Sweet Rewards app is free. Those who wish to donate and download a free coupon can also visit conesforthecure.org. “Every year we help raise awareness for The Cure Starts Now with our Cones for the Cure campaign and signature Elena’s Blueberry Pie Ice Cream,” shared Chip Graeter, 4th generation co-owner of Graeter’s. “We partnered with the Cure Starts Now more than a decade ago and have been committed to this cause ever since. This year, more than ever, The Cure Starts Now needs our support. We hope everyone will stop by their local Graeter’s to learn more about Cones for the Cure, get some ice cream and support these children.” “Graeter’s has been such an excellent partner and we feel so blessed that this Cincinnati-based family brand is continuing to support a cause through the uncertainty of this year,” shared Keith Desserich, co-founder and Chairman of the Board at The Cure Starts Now. “Through Graeter’s efforts, we’ve raised more than $1.2 million in new cancer research funding and have been able to fund clinical trials that some of this year’s heroes are taking part in. We are so thrilled to continue this partnership, and raise even more!” About The Cure Starts Now - The Cure Starts Now was started in honor of 6-year-old Cincinnati girl, Elena Desserich, and her battle with DIPG. With over 40 chapters worldwide, The Cure Starts Now has quickly gained acclaim as one of the fastest growing cancer research charities and one of the first to advocate a homerun strategy for cancer research. Believing in more than just awareness, The Cure Starts Now has funded over $16.5 million in cancer research, resulting in over 133 cutting edge research grants in 15 countries since 2007.
