Kelly Clarkson made a surprise appearance at the Global Citizen Festival in New York this weekend, sharing the stage with a musical legend.
Kellly came out to join Carole King for a performance of her “Tapestry” classic “Where You Lead,” which younger audiences will probably recognize as the theme song to “Gilmore Girls.”
The Global Citizen Festival took place this weekend in New York, featuring performances by Queen with Adam Lambert, Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys, OneRepublic, H.E.R and Carole King.
The aim of Global Citizen is to end “extreme global poverty” by 2030, but on Saturday most of the people on the Great Lawn in Central Park were probably there to just enjoy a great day of music.
Alicia Keys performed such hits as “Girl on Fire,” “If I Ain’t Got You” and “Empire State of Mind (Part II),” and being joined by H.E.R. for a cover of Aerosmith’s“Dream On.” In addition, OneRepubic performed “Halo,” which frontman Ryan Tedder wrote for Beyonce.
The night's headliners, Queen with Adam Lambert, were introduced by “Bohemian Rhapsody” Oscar-winner Rami Malek, with the band performing such Queen classics as “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “We Will Rock You,” “We Are the Champions,” “ “Under Pressure,” “and more with Lambert donning a jewel-encrusted crown for the performance.
