1. So, what is World Emoji Day exactly? World Emoji Day is an annual celebration of Emoji, which have become increasingly popular in texts and on Facebook since 1999.

2. Why is it celebrated on 17 July? Simply put, 17 July is famously displayed on the Calendar Emoji, which is why it was chosen as the date for World Emoji Day.

4. In August 2013 Emoji was officially added to Oxford Dictionaries. The definition of Emoji in English: “A small digital image or icon used to express an idea or emotion.”
