Jeopardy Champ's Run Comes To An End

"Jeopardy!" champ James Holzhauer's reign has ended

He’s come out on top for 32 straight games, just half a million short of dethroning Ken Jennings’all-time record as of May 28th. But yesterday’s game ended his reign.

For his 33rd game, Holzhauer was bested by Emma Boettcher. He leaves the show with $2,462,216. “Nobody likes to lose,” he tells the New York Times. “But I’m very proud of how I did and I really exceeded my own expectations for the show. So I don’t feel bad about it.”

Not too shabby, it makes sense that he’s in good spirits despite the loss. He’s even cracked a joke about it on Twitter, referencing the “Drake Curse” that names rapper Drake as a bad luck omen. “Knew I shouldn’t have invited Drake to the Jeopardy taping,” Holzhauer writes on Twitter.
