5 Seconds Of Summer Drop New Single “Easier”

5 Seconds of Summer has been teasing their fans on social media with clues about an upcoming project, and now some of they have some answers. The band just released a video for the new song “Easier,” the first taste of their upcoming fourth album, which the band describes as being “darker” than their previous records.

“There is a darker tone to this record intentionally,” the band tells "Rolling Stone," adding they’ve been inspired by bands like Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode and Tears for Fears. They note that “Easier” is “derivative of the driving drum groove” fro NIN’s “Closer.”

The band hasn’t revealed when they will release the album, but fans can expect more music from them this year. They share, “Before the end of this year we would love to have at least half the record released through singles.”
