PARKS AND RECREATION Predicted GAME OF THRONES Would Go 'Off the Rails'

Some fans have been grumbling that Game of Thrones has completely jumped the shark in its final season. Apparently, though, it's something all of us should have seen coming: US sitcom Parks and Recreation predicted the show would go 'off the rails' all the way back in 2015.

The episode in question was actually set in 2017, during a jump forward in time in Parks and Rec's seventh season.

In the show, an attempt to mend the fledgling friendship between Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) and whiskey-loving curmudgeon Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) sees them being locked in the parks office overnight by their friends.

While pleading for their release, Leslie desperately reminds her husband Ben (Adam Scott) that the Game of Thrones finale is airing later that night - and the fictional plot summary she presents for the episode is a bit bonkers, to say the least.

"Khaleesi is marrying Jack Sparrow!" she says. "Oh, God, that show has really gone off the rails."

On Twitter, fans have been eagerly sharing the Parks and Recreation clip as proof that Leslie Knope was trying to warn us all about the future of Game of Thrones.
