Zayn Malik has teamed with former “The Four” contestant Zhavia Ward for a new take on the “Aladdin” classic “A Whole New World,” which will be featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming live-action version of the Disney film.
“The selection of artists, producer and tonal direction was critical for the success of updating a classic song like this,” president of Walt Disney Studio’s Music & Soundtracks Mitchell Leib said in a statement. “Zayn’s vocals are like no other and his artistic imprint immediately brought a contemporary and diverse presence.”
The song is expected to play over the film’s end credits. The original was recorded by Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle.
Both the movie, starring Will Smith,and the soundtrack will be released May 24th.
