Jon Bon Jovi got a dressing down from ET Canada over remarks he made in Australia about reality TV in the U.S.
The singer said in an interview with Australia's The Sunday Project that he's "never given 60 seconds" of his life to "one of those 'Housewives of blah blah' or Kardashians and doesn't even know their names.
He then addressed Kim Kardashian's fame, saying, "What's going to be in your autobiography? I made a porno and guess what, I got famous? [Bleep]. Sorry, I'll pass." The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer than offered some career advice to multi-millionaire Kardashian, "Go and write a book, paint a painting, act, play, write."
Half a world away, though, the three panelists on ET Canada weren't buying it. "He comes from that generation where you had to have a skill to be famous and rich," said one, "And now we are in this time where you don't have to be that person, you can have a YouTube channel, or a podcast or [be an] Instagram model and become very famous, and I can feel his resentment toward this."
Then she defended Kardashian because "she didn't release her sex tape, someone she was dating did," and she turned the tables on him and rode it to fame and fortune. She also blasted Bon Jovi for saying he didn't watch The Kardashians, but knew enough about Kim to talk about her at length. She called Bon Jovi "bitter" and suggested he "let it go," saying, "He's like the old guy on the porch saying, 'Get off my lawn.'"
