Toddler Reds Fan Adorably Insists on Throwing First Pitch from the Mound

It’s safe to assume most people are are a little nervous before throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, especially if they’re not a successful athlete. Not this tiny Cincinnati Reds fan named Nolan.

The toddler was set to throw out the first pitch at the Reds-Cubs game on Friday, and he was seemingly fairly placed not far in front of home plate, where another fan, Haylee Clark, would catch it. However, Nolan was having none of it, repeatedly demanding to move farther back away from the plate and closer to the mound.

In fact, Nolan straight up refused to throw out the first pitch until he was standing on the mound. He turned and briefly looked around — as if to tell everyone, “See! This is where I’m supposed to be!” — and then threw his pitch.

This kid is a big winner in our book. Bravo!

The Reds beat the Cubs, 6-3, to extend their win streak to five games. It was the second of a four-game series
