Lea Michele Honors Cory Monteith On The 6th Anniversary Of His Death

On the 13th of each July since 2013, Lea Michele always makes it a point to pay tribute to her late boyfriend and Glee costar, Cory Monteith. This year marks the sixth anniversary of his death and just like in past years, she made sure to honor his memory with a social media post.

The 32-year-old actress took to Twitter on Saturday to post a photo of the sun breaking through the clouds over a calm body of water. “The light always remains ❤️,” she captioned the post on Twitter

While a simple nod to her late friend, Michele's tribute this year is reflective of 2018's where she also posted a photo of the sun rising over the ocean captioning it, “There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone, the light remains."

Monteith died of an accidental mixed drug overdose on July 13, 2013, in a hotel in Vancouver, Canada. He was 31 and was dating Michele at the time. Since his death, the Scream Queens actress has permanently honored Monteith with an array of tattoos in his honor. She has his football jersey number from Glee as well as his character name from the show.

Glee alum Jenna Ushkowitz, Heather Morris, and Amber Riley all also paid tribute to their former costar on the sixth anniversary of his death.

Michele recently married Zandy Reich in March of this year after dating for two years and getting engaged in April 2018.
