A concert from Prince and the Revolution's Purple Rain tour will be reissued in multiple versions on June 3rd.
Prince and the Revolution Live was filmed for broadcast to Europe on March 30th, 1985 in Syracuse, New York. It was released on VHS in August 1985, then released on DVD as part of the deluxe edition of Purple Rain in 2017. The audio was released digitally for a brief time in 2020.
This new version has the concert film rescanned, restored and color-corrected from the original video source plus the original multitrack tapes were found in Prince's vault and have been remixed and remastered. The concert will be available as a three-LP set, as a 2-CD/Blu-ray set and as a deluxe box set with the vinyl, CDs, Blu-ray and 44-page book.
