DL Hughley Tests Positive for COVID After Collapsing on Stage

DL Hughley was diagnosed with COVID-19 after collapsing on stagein Nashville on Friday night. He was in the middle of his set at Zanies Comedy Club when his speech began to slur and he slumped over his stool. His manager tried to steady him, but he fell to the ground and appeared unresponsive. He was carried off the stage by two people and taken to hospital in an ambulance. 

The comedian released a videoto update fans on his condition and thank them for their thoughts and prayers. He was treated for exhaustion and dehydration, but he ended up testing positive for the coronavirus. He said the diagnosis blew him away because he was asymptomatic, but added, “In addition to the other stuff you have to look out for, [if you] pass out in the middle of a show, onstage, you probably need to get tested.” Now that he’s out of the hospital, he’ll be quarantining in his hotel room for 14 days.
